Why twice a year
Your system simply runs far more hours here. More runtime means more moisture on the coil, more biofilm growth, more dust and salt accumulation, and more wear. Two visits — typically Spring and Fall — keep efficiency high and prevent the breakdowns that always seem to happen on the hottest day.
What a proper tune-up includes
- Coil and blower inspection (and cleaning as needed).
- Condensate drain line flush to prevent water leaks.
- Refrigerant level and pressure check.
- Electrical connections and capacitor inspection.
- Outdoor unit corrosion check and rinse.
- Filter cleaning or replacement.
